Canada : Contract talks again break down in Essex library dispute
The library strike in Essex County continues after contract negotiations once again fell apart.
Officials from the Essex County Library Board issued a statement Wednesday night, saying they spent another
Talks had resumed this week after the union, which represents the library workers, withdrew its complaint with the Ontario Labour Relations Board, which argued the employer had been bargaining in bad faith.
Workers have been on strike for 82 days and all 14 library branches in Essex County have been closed.
The 58 library workers have been on strike since June 25. The union claims the big issue is sick days.
